45 lb Yellowtail Caught In 12' Dinghy At Catalina's East End
This 45 lb. Yellowtail was caught in a 12' dinghy at Catalina's East End Light on 28th of Aug. The fish was taken on a 9' custom Calstar rod, Newell 533 with 40 lb. XXX and a
6.2 Mint HighTideSportfishing Jig.
The Yellow was hooked in 80' of water in a 12' dinghy and then dragged out to sea after hooked to avoid being rocked by Captain Brad Schnair to 200 ft of water where the fight just started to get going.
Notice the huge tail on the 5 foot Yellow as 22 minutes was needed to gaff and land the TOAD!
